How to convert a single-piece Ugly Stik to a two-piece Ugly Stik
#1
Kory, Barry and I just returned from a two-day sturgeon trip. It was supposed to be a three-day trip, but Mother Nature decided two days was long enough (too windy today to safely launch). It was another great trip with 21 sturgeon landed with Newby Barry landing the largest one at only 7'8" long (approximately 43 years old and around 259 pounds). First time I have broken fishing rod while landing a sturgeon.

The rod that broke was a Ugly Stik Tiger Lite, rated for 6'3" long, and rated for 50 to 100 lb Braided Line. I still managed to land the beast and it was only 6 1/2' long. Hopefully, they will replace it for free.

Great outing and fun fishing companions. Can't wait to do it again and I don't have to wait long.
