Very helpful and generous group on the forum.
I'd have to say Utah Lake is the venue for catfishing in Utah.
Everyone been doing quite well. I've been down in my FishCat pontoon 3 times in the last week and caught lots of cats in the 22"- 28" range each time. My baits of choice are carp meat, white bass, shrimp, night crawlers and just about anything else you can get on a hook(they aren't real picky). A lot of times you can work little jigs and spinners (tip them with a pinch of crawler) in the rocky areas and catch white bass for bait. You will find the majority of the cats are holding in water around 3' deep. Utah Lake is very low right now it's easier to get depth in a boat but people do very well from the bank also. A lot of guys will wade out in the lake up to their waist to get to deeper water. The entire lake produces cats, I particularly like the southern shore line. Lincoln Beach is very productive right now, but anywhere along that Goshen Bay road will give up nice catfish. Send follow forum member TubeDude a PM inquiring about his writings on Utah Lake(very informative). I don't know anyone that knows as much about that lake as he does.
