I did a pre-fish of Soldier Creek yesterday with Kory. Up until about noon I was a little concerned about being able to find the fish on the 30th. There was no need for alarm. After returning to my long-time honey hole, and moving out to 40 - 45' of water, it was fish on.
After doing a planned board replacement on the boat trailer, in the parking lot, I decided to try another location in the mid-afternoon. Glad that I did. It was fast and furious catching at that location, again in water around 45' deep.
I caught one fish on a night crawler that I drop-shotted and all other fish were caught on tube jigs tipped with cut-chub minnows. Kory caught them on cut-chub minnows and also on crawdad tails, that he caught while we were fishing on a minnow rigged with a sinker and cheese cloth.
Along with all of the cutts, we caught around 10 rainbows, I ended up going through three bags (total of nine minnows) of frozen chubs.
Another enjoyable outing with Kory and looking forward to getting a DAV into some fish.
