Hey on the cloudy water I think it's from a film of algae that collects under the ice and when you punch through you stir it up. The more you spin the auger as you go through the longer it takes to clear, but after an hour or so it should disipate and clear up. The water is actually fairly clear. I don't think it goes very far from where you stir it so I think you don't affect the fish too bad. Later J
