Bass are fun to catch. I pulled my first lg mouth from mantua a few years back. They are a hard fighting fish. I had a great fighting fish on Saturday. It did 3 laps around the 3 other lines and the transducer. When I got it on the ice it was a 12 inch bow. Lol. You are correct cheating can and does happen. The derby looked like a lot of fun if I would have known about it I would have signed up. But cheaters take the fun out of it for those who enjoy doing it right and don't mind if we come in 4th place. This was my first time ice fishing east canyon and it was my first time catching anything out of there. I think we found a combo that worked. We just need to find a better spot.
