You're right the smaller kokes run in huge schools and are very hard to catch. They bump the lure but it's really difficult to catch them. Also agree that the larger fish hang on the outer edge of the school. Great to see the three distinct year sizes of kokes. The IDFG stocking record shows they put about 320,000 fingerlings per year in Ririe. That means nearly a million fish could be available in the lake at one time, making for a really nice fishery.
I've found the smaller less dense schools generally have the larger fish. So far this season has been a success. Been seeing plenty of fish and catching my limit most days.
