I've never used one but have been around them. A fella from Rigby had one and used it about 3 years ago. We were in a group and really couldn't tell if it made a significant difference. He always caught his limit but so did the rest of us. It certainly adds extra flash. The last couple of years this fella hasn't been using the jigger so figure it is either to much of a hassle to rig it up or it really doesn't make that much difference.
Another thing this same fella does is scales the fish into the hole so they float down in a slow manner. Not sure if that really works either. Every body has their own tricks and that's what makes it so fun. I personally prefer red shoe peg corn with krill and shrimp scent on it. I dye the corn with red food coloring and find it really makes a difference. I have found it to work better than meal worms.
It's all fun. So just get out and do it.
