My first largemouth at lincoln beach sunday 3-21
#18
Alot of guys are not familiar with Bass Fishing .. It's a sport that draws billions of dollars a year. It's the MOST pursued fish in the United States of America. The great thing about them is that they manage themselves. They are smart and mean. I have seen a baby duck lose it's life to a LMB without a splash. I have seen them take hand-sized bluegill in one gulp. Their jaws are very powerful and can crush a crawdad with a flare of it's gills. They have a very hard mouth and can withstand a big crankbait's hooks. That is why you must SET-THE-HOOK! I love these beauties!

The regulations on the local lakes are for the by-the-bucket fisherman. I have seen several fisherman take home buckets full of LMB.

It's a unique feeling when a BASS takes your bait. It will rip the rod out of your hand and leave you crying. You should try tournament fishing and kicking the crap out of your competition. The competitive nature of this sport is a pure rush! I have spent some time on many boats. Most good and some bad. I have worked my share of the Net and have commanded many to do the same. I have seen grown men fall to their knees when they miss the hook-set on a monster. [including myself] But the true fun is seeing my kids response when they hook into a fish that gives them the ultimate battle. They are wide-eyed and excited. It is a good thing when they are asking you to take them.

I hope that you give the bass thing a fair share and may your line be changed every month. There is room for learning the sport and figuring these fish out. I hope to see you on the water soon.
