Phraser, I've been useing the fishing buddy 1200 on my toons for the last year and it works good. The side looking sonar I like the best,its helped me with the top water fishing.
Mine didn't use up alot of batterys, I would get a month plus before replacing.I was useing it about three times a week.
The only drawback on the fishing buddy was the 9 degree cone. The instruction book says to devide the depth by 5 to find out the size of the cone. So if you are fishing in 20ft. of water you are only seeing 4ft. of the bottem.
