San clemente 4/22 late report

Rockfish Rockfish and more Rockfish headed for very crappy conditions windy 15 to 20 kt, friday night. saturday morning at clemente was already bad petty windy about the same as friday night 15 to 20 kt first stop around 6:30 DROPPED for some decent whitefish all day lots of whitefish and reds. at around 10 swells were getting bigger at around 10:00 5 - 6 feet very windy 20 to 25 kt occasional 30 kt pretty bad. But the sun was up and we kept fishing hard. all we caught was rockfish fished a nice kelp bed for nothing hooked a few i think calicos took me in the kelp every time as soon as i switched to a rod that had 50lb braid and a two foot flouro leader we made a move to catch some halibut we got two nice ones one 33in and a 25in. on the way home passing CAT it was really glassy and i wished we could have fished there but had a great time and got some taco meat.
