If the carp are marked in black, the whole map will be just a black blob!

Thanks for sharing the map! We all appreciate your "sharing" personality. We need more people in this world like you! Right now I am sitting in a stuffy office in Los Angeles wishing I was out fishing!

[quote BearLakeFishGuy]Would someone please post the GPS coordinates to the island?[/quote]
N 41° 22.015', W 112° 05.436' Scott, attached are some of my notes on fishing Willard. Page 9 has those coordinates as well as others that might interest you.. --- Coot --- [signature]

I am always amazed that the "North Dike" is named "North".. It doesn't run nort-to-south nor does it run east-to-west. To me it should have been named the "North-West Dike". I think I should have been consulted before it got its name.

Thanks TD, excellent work and very useful info as always. It's interesting how different my perception of a lake is when I'm boating on it. What I thought was over there is over here, and that thing's different than what I saw from the boat. Even after boating on Strawberry countless times, I always learn things when I look at the map. Things ain't always the way they seem from a boat-eye view. I always thought the "island" was almost straight out from the mouth of the South Marina. Wrong.

I see Old Coot's map shows the island being almost straight out from the south marina, more where I remember it being.

[#0000FF]Consult you? Ha! You never call for fishing trips and you don't send PMs unless you want something. And whenever I try to confirm anything you are always out in the garden or in the kitchen eating jalapenos.
But I agree on the directionals. Unfortunately the folks who laid out the dikes on Willard were not the same ones who planned all of Utah's streets. It would be much easier to report the best fishing at ____ No. and ____ W. Not even any need for that silly GPS stuff. [/#0000FF] [signature]

[#0000FF]Here's another one of my low water pics showing the island exposed. It is kinda in a NW line from the mouth of the channel...and you can see the far north ramps looking up the channel when you are at the island.
Rememberies and perceptions can be deceiving and can get us in trouble. Unfortunately our spouses always seem to have perfect memories of every little thing we did in our past lives...even if their perception is not always as we would like it to be. [/#0000FF] [signature]

Boy, ain't that the truth ... So to break that nasty habbit, here's a friendly drive-by just to say I still love you Pat.[:p] --- Ralph --- [signature] EDIT: Oops ... I thought I was sending a PM instead of replying. Oh well, the cat's out of the closet now.

Pat, You posted the similar map a year or so back. I printed it, and laminated it, and carried it in my boat for long time. Wind caught it one afternoon last year out in the middle of what Curt calls the openness...ever could catch it. Thanks, will reprint this one. Never mind all these other guys wanting special fish colors and such, all I want is the spots you always seem to find the Cats.
[laugh] Just kidding. I've found several of them already. Have them marked on my GPS as "Cat Alley" [signature]

Thanks Tubedude! I printed it out on the spot.
Does anyone know if the North Dike parking lot is accessible now? The gate was closed last Fall with no explanation. [signature]

[#0000FF]I noticed the closure last fall too but did not know the reason. Sorry but I forgot to look on my trip a week ago. Maybe someone else can look.
That is a good spot for rock rompers to access the dike. Pretty popular during the May wiper thing. Also a good spot to get on the dike with a bike and travel to the light pole and west side. But probably closer to get there from the perimeter road and the SW corner. [/#0000FF] [signature]

[#0000FF]Glad to fix you up with a new map.
I suspect that what you refer to as "Cat Alley" is what I call my "Kitty Condo"...or pretty close to it. There are definitely a couple of small areas out there that seem to always hold some whisker fish. I'm glad I did screen captures and made maps on so many of my fave fishing areas. About 2 months ago my Google Earth went wacko on me and I haven't been able to access it since. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times but it still doesn't love me. But I still have a lot of the basic maps that I can label and customize if there is ever anything you need...except for pinpointing individual fish. [/#0000FF] [signature]
