Spent three hours at Willard this morning showing my nephew how to catch cat fish with a fly rod. He's a slow learner. Managed to hook a couple but couldn't land them. I had a pretty good morning. Six or seven kitties, a SMB and a bluegill. Bluegill was a first for me at Willard.

[#0000FF]Nice.
Used to be a lot of bluegill...and green sunfish. That was before the new kids (wipers) discovered that small sunfish made a good menu item when the shad were too big...or non-existent. PS...the wipers also eat a lot of small crappies...and perch...and walleyes...and even catfish.

Thanks for the post. I live close to Willard, but haven't fished it much. I bet that was a blast teaching him and getting into some good fish.
