Whiskers at Willard
#1
Headed down to Willard this morning, a little later than I would have liked. Launched the kayak at Eagle Beach and paddled out hoping to catch some wipers. I was looking at the FF and saw where the depth dropped to 18' when the rod pulling a crank bait bent over. It's been a couple of months since I've caught a wiper but it didn't feel like I remembered, turned out to be a decent cat. Tried taking a selfie but I guess the fish was camera shy and managed to squirm out of my grip while I was fumbling with the phone, better the fish than the phone.
Trolled north to the dike with no action and turned around and went south picking up a wiper on the same bait but lost it at the boat.
Hit the little hump again where I caught the first cat and caught another a little bigger than the first. Tried some more trolling but no more action and the power squadron was out in force so decided to call it a day.

Electric is coming. After 40 years laying brick and block these poor old arms need a break.
