Help for Salmon Main idaho
#1
Hey anyone, I will be floating the Salmon River for 7 days, near the town of Salmon to take out near McCall, i believe is through the wilderness (maybe Frank Church Wildernesss). I would like suggestions, I will be using spinning setup. Jigs? Colors? Tube or feather,? Panther Matins, Jake's? Cranks?

Do I need a net, as they limit what can bring. What size and type of fish?

I promise pictures. Thanks, this forum has always been super helpful.

One suggestion would be to also make the same post on the Idaho board.

You might order some fresh eggs, scents, and shrimp as these are great baits for salmon and steelhead - don't go cheap on your baits especially if you're expecting to get fish in the boat.

These guys have never disappointed me - great quality products !!

Do your homework and watch a lot of youtubing on how to rig a shrimp and roe.

Jig fishing is an art onto itself - maek sure you know was to set you bobber.

I believe your best bet is to contact the Bent Rod in Challis or Salmon River Fly box in Stanley and pick their brains. Not sure what type of fishing you do, but these guy's are great and will help you out. You will drive thru Challis and Stanley both to float thru the Frank Church. It should be a trip of a lifetime, if there are no fires.
