Wow you’re crazy getting out on 2” ice. Congrats but be careful. Or did you find more ice than that? Should be an inch thicker today so hopefully the risk is decreasing. But watch for those springs and thin spots. Thanks for entering. Later J

The ice was a little thicker on the east side. But, I still was wearing my life jacket and spikes and had a tether tied to the shore incase I went through. Be careful of the construction traffic also if you go, lots of heavy machinery and trucks cruising around.

Yup for sure things stay fluid in this contest up till ice melts. Is that an oxymoron? But it makes it fun. Later J

Rainbow - 25.5"
This one is close, his nose isnt quite to the end of the tape, but I think his tail is far enough past the 1/2" mark to make up the difference. What says you? If it helps, I added a close up of the tape measure to show the fractional markings
Mmmmmm... so close! I'll give it to you. However, this is a nice fat cutthroat trout and not a rainbow. Beautiful fish!

Yikes!! Better add me to the doofus list of people that misidentify fish.

That is a beautiful fish! I think you sealed the deal on the species count with him. I was hoping to catch a koke & a sunfish this week and pass you up but the best I could do now is tie up. Well done!

Thanks. I was excited to get my first one. Too bad you couldn't make it this time. We'll have to go try for them. The ice should be good for a while longer up there.
