one day on union lake in oakland co mi

I spent the day fryday the 20th of february.

rough time to say the least.

the out house was locked. the trash cans removed from the site. garbage spread acoss the lake, parking area and lawn. I am surprised the neighbors were not complaining to the park people or at lansing head quarters.

I arived at 6 am and spent the entire day. that is I stayed till 8 pm. bath room bakes were a pain.

the days catch was not much better. I caught three mudpuppies one perch that I used as bait on my tip up which caught one of the mud puppies.

eleven hours later I ran in to a man with a camera who marked thousands of fish but could not get one to hit. I wipped out my favorite tincy jig and pulled up a rock bass and two gills.

I spent most of my day jigging for walleyes, but no takers. no one else on the lake had any takers eather, I guess that new moon just turned off the fish for good. at least for a couple days.

after getting soked in rain and standing in 6 inches of water for several hours in the evening I packed up and went home around 8pm. tomarow is another day.

BESIDES THE FESTIVITIES THAT WERE GOING ON AROUN US YESTERDAY OUR CONDITIONS WERE A LITTLE EXTREME .

WE HAD A COLDFRONT MOVE IN WITH HEAVY WINDS . ONCE BASSASS AND I STARTED WELL IT WAS FUNNY .

I'DE DRILL A HOLE , HE'DE COME IN BEHIND ME AND BAIT AND SET UP THE TIP-UPS , BEHIND HIM CAME THE KIDS TO CLEAR THE HOLES FROM THE BLOWING SNOW .

WE HAD THE WIND BREAK OUT THERE , BUT IT KEPT BLOWING OVER . WE HAD TO STEP ON THE SUPORTS AND HOLD ONTO THE FRAMEWORK SO THEY COULD GET OUT OF THE WIND A BIT .

NO KIDDING OUR TIP-UPS WERE BURIED WITHIN 5 MINUTES . THE KIDS WERE REAL TROOPERS . I'VE SEEN GROWN MEN COME OFF THE ICE WHEN IT'S LIKE THIS . THE KIDS JUST KEPT ON HAVING THE BEST TIME EVER .

NOT A SPECK OF TRASH TO SPEAK OF AT THE EVENT , EVERYONE PICKED UP AFTER THEMSELVES . I KNOW SEEING THAT KIND OF CARELESSNESS DOWN THERE GETS YOU PRETTY UPSET TOO . WHY CAN'T THESE PEOPLE JUST TAKE THERE JUNK HOME ? IT ISN'T ONE BIT HARD TO DO !

WOULDN'T YOU LOVE TO SEE SOMEONE TRASH THE PLACE WITH LITTER , FOLLOW THEM HOME , GO BACK AND GET THE STUFF AND RETURN TO THERE HOUSE AND SCATTER IT ALL OVER THERE LAWN ?

Not everyone can be a good boy scout. I always learned that if you pack it in, then pack it out. Back then I didn't have to carry extra garbage bags with me when I went fishing or camping. Now I end up taking more trash home than what I brought.[crazy]
