A buddy of mine is coming in this weekend from warm Texas, he wanted me to take him to strawberry, i am wondering if strawberry is worth anything this time of year and also if anyone has tips of where to shore fish there, as we will not have a boat. Any help would be great! Let me know thanks!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Strawberry is still iced over. I would start looking at some of the lower elevation lakes to take your friend to.

As stated Strawberry is still frozen. There is a limited area, at The Ladders, where one can fish from the shore.

When fishing at Deer Creek this time of the year the fish can be anywhere from right next to shore to out deep. Use both of your poles to try different depths until you find the productive area. A lot of my shore fishing time there is walking along casting small crankbaits along the rocks.

I just looked at the jordanelle webcam and it still has ice on it but I know deer creek and Rockport both have open water to shore fish. Just an option.
