Lincoln Beach report 4/13/19
#1
I went back to Lincoln on Saturday afternoon and fished the channel. It was warm enough to fish in my t-shirt. It was too hot on my head and I had to go back to the pickup to get my ball cap. Several cars came and went and a few people were fishing. I didn't see any catching. There were a couple of boat trailers in the parking lot and a few boats came and went while I was there.

I used cut carp meat and a shrimp/worm combo. Not much happening. I kept adjusting for depth and sometimes stayed stuck on the bottom and other times let my bobber drift with the slight wind. I was watching the bobbers and then looking around, do-dee-doo, when I looked back and couldn't see one of the bobbers. I started reeling in the fish and about halfway there the line went slack. I kept reeling and the bobber stayed under the water. When I got it near the bank the fish started fighting and I thought I had a small channel on but when I got it where I could see it it was a bullhead. I tried to lift it up by the line but it shook free and I didn't have to deal with getting the hook out and being slimed. That was my one fish so I didn't get skunked and it was nice to feel something wiggly on the end of my line again. The worm was gone but the shrimp remained. How do they do that?

A pleasant trip. I got to pick up some garbage and improved my "seat". I got my set-up sorted out better than on the day before. Now I just need to figure out how to set up an umbrella and rod holder there. I'm looking forward to the end of this week when we can get a few days past this storm.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

I was wondering how it’s been I almost went this morning but I had to take my truck into the shop so I didn’t make it. The camp host were supposed to be there today and start working on the 20 th which I’m excited for. I’m hoping to get out soon, hopefully with you Craig. Missed he friendly conversation.

Jim is getting back sooner than I thought; I'll have to get out there and talk to him. The plans for the Flotilla are going along well. I just want to coordinate with him.
