Lake Powell stripers
#1
Didn’t plan on fishing much as I was in the ski boat with the fam. As I was pulling kids on the tube, I ended up spotting a boil and immediately stopped the boat, tied on a plastic shad lure and voila! I was hooked. I think my girls all rolled their eyes as they shook their head in dismay. After heading back out that afternoon we found boils all over. Mostly up against cliffs and as long as I could cast 5 to 10 ft in front of them I was getting hits. They were up and down canyons and right along steep cliff walls. I think I’ll take the fly rod next time I go down. Those stripers are a ton of fun to go after when they are boilin.

Nice thanks for the report. What part if Powell were you on? Were they decent sized?

8-10 miles north of bullfrog. Main channel between Crystal creek canyon to Moqui Steps cove. Just stayed close to cliff walls the whole time and fished up canyons as well. They were mostly 3 pounders

sounds like the slurps have started nearly lake wide. I can't wait for things to cool off this fall, when we get real boils going!!
