Starvation - Indian Bay
#1
I fished Starvation today from my tube in Indian Bay from 6:30 until 2:00. I hadn't been there since April 23rd when I went home smelling bad. I was hoping that the fishing had improved since then.

I used the regular fly tackle for Starvation, medium sink line, size 6 & 8 bead head buggers and leeches. I was able to avoid the skunk but the fish were all small. I caught smallmouth from 10" - 12" long and one 16" walleye. I hooked a couple of larger fish but couldn't keep them on long enough to see what they were.

The water temperature was 59-64 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 10' - 11'. I didn't expect the water to be that clear with all the runoff coming in. The reservoir is full and spilling.

It wasn't a great day fishing but it was fun to get back over there and try anyway.[Wink]

Is that the only fishing you did, all with a flipping stick?
Did you see other boaters have any success? Did you have sonar, spying on anyone?

I have heard a fly rod called a number of things but never a flipping stick, that's a new one on me.[Wink] A fly rod is all I fish with, too old to learn anything new.[:/]

There were a couple of boats in the area and several that were trolling in the main channel. I did not see the ones near me catch anything.

I marked some fish but not a lot, and only a few larger fish.
