I'm going to give this knot a try and see if it will hold my jigs horizontal better than the regular Palomar knot does.

Hopefully it helps. Does your current knot solution slip along the eye allowing it to not float how you like?

I am using tube jigs, for vertical jigging, and I am using either palomar or uni knots to tie on my jigs to my leader. They both work fairly well, but the tubes often are hanging vertically (I want them to remain horizontal) after an attempted hook set or two.

Or...you could use your regular knot...improved clinch or whatever...after running the line through the hook eye two or three times. Even Nanofil holds solid with a double or triple eye loop.
Or...you could make some custom tube jig heads with the eye centered in the lead to create a natural horizontal presentation. I have a spinner body mold that I have modified to accept jig hooks...and to make tube jigs with the hook eye centered...as in the attached pic. Will loan it to you if you wanna make a few...1/8 oz., 1/4 oz. or 3/8 oz.

Kent, have you thought about using a drop-shot rig to achieve both a horizontal AND and weightless tube? Here's a vid showing a knot much better than a Palomar for this...

Here's a vid showing a knot much better than a Palomar for this... I have used the drop-shot rig on many occasions, especially when fishing for bass. I like the knot that guy is using and will give it a try on Friday (although I will be fishing Strawberry). I have used them a few times and not sure why I don't use them more often. I will gladly take you up on your generous offer to loan me your your mold, and make up a batch of jigs. I need to pick up my rod, so that would be a great time to also pick up the mold.
