You be careful. The way the wind blew here the ice on Yuba May all be floating around Lake Powell. Every bit of snow we had was gone overnight. It was a true Chinook wind

i haven't been there since it froze, i fell through twice there over the years, once in about 4 feet and the other in about 18 feet, it was cold but i stayed and toughed it out, warmed up in the truck for a bit and put some dry clothes on. hopefully tomorrow i find out if any giant goldfish are hungry, aka carp. hey cowboy ya gonna do a separate category for mirror carp!?theres a chance it could be open water though.

I haven’t been up to see. We got a nice 6 inch snow storm but it melted off quick and the roads are a mud bog. I kinda give up on Vernon. Too many people and too little fish. It used to really be fun. Then it got discovered by the masses and it’s went to heck in a hand basket. Throw in the fact the county never enforces anything from speeding to drunk and disorderly and the FS rarely even shows up, I has abandoned what was once a neat little pond. Good luck on Yuby. I’ve had a lot of fun down there as well.

Bout didn't see that question. You catch a mirror carp and I will give ya a hand tied pugly perch bug for your effort.

Does the shore line allow easy access?
A picture of the dam area would be great.

Maybe this spring I'll go down, I could once catch a good bunch of eyes there. Worth giving it another try.
I'll let you know. But only if I can catch then again.

I try for them quite a bit there but it seems there's a better population at deer creek now days.

I agree deer creek has been the better producer. Given the good population s of other opportunities like small mouth and trout, not to mention much closer to me. Hope the party groups can be brought into a more respectful time. I wish the parks people would something about inforcement of laws. See ya out there one day.
