Redfish, finally!!
#1
Bit of a cold front today in Tampa, woke up to 54* and a cold north wind. Took the kayak out for some flats fishing thinking the redfish would be shallow looking for warm water. I have never caught a redfish in all the years I have travelled to Florida, now that I live here I will be targeting them on the flats a lot. Well, I can check it off the list, stuck a couple of them today and a Snook. I really am loving living here.

Congratulations, nice looking redfish there. What fly did you catch it with. 54 out on the Ocean is colder than many may think. I’m in Albuquerque now at it 54 at noon. Not sure if I’ll get time to fly fish today but I’m thinking of hitting the Rio Chama tomorrow. At least as long as the Canyon I plan to fish doesn’t turn into a wind tunnel.

They all ate a small mullet pattern, blind cast them as they were a bit deeper, no tails up today.
