Deer Creek Saturday
#1
Hit the lake around 8am and if you know Deer Creek the wind is coming at 11am. So  I tried several of my spots by the dam but the shore was covered with anglers so I headed to the Island to look fo smallies. Dropped the camera to see what was happening and saw some fish in about 35ft of water tried several jigs, ripping raps and drop shots to get them to bite but nothing. So I moved closer to the Island to skip bobber for some trout an picked up 3

Thanks for the report and welcome to the site. Sounds like a tough day but at least no skunk was involved. Did you try any trolling?

I think the sun had everyone with a stick and line out beating our local waters. Dont blame them a bit. I was. But I think I will stick to Tues and Thur.

I am waiting on the smallies to get active, too. Should not be long before you can wander back there and enjoy a spring bite.
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew
