My son & his buddy is doing a couple of days at Pyramid. Today has been a good day for catching Layhonton cutts. Beautiful looking cutts

Yes it would. Small chance I'll get there in the next 2 months. Still on my bucket list.
Since these fish are descended from the Lahotan Cutthroat that survived in the creeks in Utah on Pilot's Peak, I think Utah DWR should look to see if there is a suitable location to stock them in a Utah lake or reservoir.

I think they tried them in Mantua, which IMNSHO is a poor choice for Utah waters.

I know they tried Kamloops rainbows...with marginal success.  Water gets too warm.  But can't recall them ever putting Lahontans anywhere.  The beloved Bonnies have supreme reign in Utah.

Oops, my bad.  I recalled them trying some type of trout in Mantua that apparently didn't work.  Puzzled why they tried them in Mantua.

Probably had some eggs or sac fry from another state to try...and put a few in several different waters to see if they would work.  Heck, they even tried chinook salmon in Utah Lake at one time.

I never had the opportunity to fish for the kamloops in Mantua but have heard varying reports.  A few fly flingers claim to have done well on some big hard-fighting fish...and were disappointed when no more were planted.  But DWR biologists say that the conditions year-round were not suitable for this cold water fish from British Columbia.

He's off all week with his B-Day on Thursday. He says Pyramid is his favorite lake which I wish I could've been there to enjoy with him.
