Was not my day….
#1
Went out yesterday, perfect weather, perfect water….fished with my buddies, threw the same bait, I just could not catch them, buddies caught some of the biggest Reds of the year…my small guy was living under the same dock as the big boys, not sure how he didn’t get eaten….great day out, just not MY day.

We all have days like that, at least you didn't get shunked, great pics. We are still getting snow up here, so at least you had a great day on the water.  Were you throwing plastics at them or hard lures?

Looks like great fun... at least you only have those days once in awhile, they are my regular occurrences... Everyone I take with me always outfishes me.. Guess that's why I have to go alone sometimes, just to have a top rod day... Later J
When things get stressful think I'll go fish'en and worry about it tomorrow!

Remo, did you hang up your fly rod when you moved out there? Do you ever throw for those snook?
I also realize that a day of throwing that big fly gear will wear out your body quicker- just wondering if you ever try it.
At least your little red looks healthy, and in a couple years he will be one of those big boys... if he keeps out of the way of them between now and then!

Live bait, small Pilchards.

I gotta tell ya, I have been lazy with the fly rod, Sadly. I do still take the rod out on occasion though. I have a buddy in town next week and we will be fly fishing, hopefully we’ll have some pics. And yes, I have caught snook and jacks on the fly rod…lots of fun but you are correct that throwing a fly rod all day is tiring. Get lazy just throwing live bait and drinking beer.

Great come back, pretty amazing what a few days can mean as far as catching goes. How big are those bigger Reds?
