Knolls
#1
Made it out to the Knolls today for a look see. Maybe a bit more water than this time last year I think. Still lots of mud and shallow water
quite a ways out. No ice as far as I could see. Lots of slippery sticky mud. Will take lot more water and drying before this wobbly old guy can launch aa tube there. The weeds you can see sticking out of the water is bout 25 yards out. I know its quite early. I sure missed the Knolls last year. Hope it gets to be launchable this year

Thanks for the info and pics. That calm water sure looks inviting, good to see the water level coming up a bit from last year. I like that area and travel over there by boat from Lincoln and other times I launch my kayak from the shore. That muddy bottom is deceptive; it looks like rocky sand on the surface and it is until you put the weight of a truck on it. Those tracks in the mud in your second picture could very well be mine. I got stuck there and had to call for reinforcements to come and fetch me out. Live and learn... I hope.

Lincoln is looking better every time I go there. I think a smaller boat could get out if your trailer will clear the drop at the end of the cement. I would give it a try but have not got my boat out yet. I have not seen a launch or a trailer in the parking area. Would probably have to trim up all the way out the chancel to open water. Heavy in-flow from Spring Creek and weatherman says more rain/snow coming so it should not be too long before the walleye guys are launching, catters too.

Hope to see you at the Knolls soon.

Last time I launched at Lincoln was november, ran into the rocks just out from the ramp.... after the drop... then it was so shallow I had to lift my motor and use my electric ace ventura style to get to the main lake what a ordeal!!

I'm pretty sure that's why my boat will NOT let me take it to Utah Lake.   Big Grin
