So Tiny
#1
Cookie let me sneak away again after school. Ran up to a little creek near by. Been years since I fished it. Was a brown trout creek in my younger days. But it was full of small cuts on this trip. Lots of cuts caught but nothing bigger than 12 inches and most were closer to 5 inch. Fished some of Pat's micro ice jigs. White with an eye was the favorite but green and orange got some love too. My target was a big brown but I am not gona complain. The little tiny creek still has fish and they kept me smiling. Pretty wild setting. During the summer ya got to keep an eye out for rattlesnakes or your day can get ruined in a hurry. Mostly private ground.

Short video.

Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

I'm pretty sure he was referring to some of the jigs I call "bait bugs".  I started making and using these little jigs many years ago, while living in Arizona.  When I moved back to Utah 20 years ago I introduced them to our local fishies and they have shown lots of approval.  As Cowboy has found, they can be deadly fished a lot of ways...with or without "sweetener" (bait) added.

I am attaching some pics and a PDF writeup I put together.  The pictures show the original style...made with chenille or craft cord bodies, newer models with painted bodies and some I make especially for fishing for chubs in my fave chub pond...with or without a bobber.

Only if you seek more knowledge.  As with many other things in life, the journey is often more important than the destination.

Hope this stuff helps.  I have had a great time with my studies...and I am happy to pass along whatever it is I think I have learned...to help others shorten their own learning curves.

Agreed. I love a good journey. I'll be looking to buy a vise on the big auction site so I can start that part of my next journey.
