Pineview report?
#1
Anyone been up to Pineview lately?  Any ice forming in the Narrows?  Hoping this year will be better than last...

Haven't read any reports but from what I'm seeing it might still be a few more weeks. In years past a few of us would be up there fishing from our boats but the Feds put a stop to our fun, so Sadly no reports from us.

Curt, did they shut off Pineview completely? I thought it just got so expensive to launch that noone was going anymore... I really liked that fall crappie bite up there, I'd like to do that again... Later J
When things get stressful think I'll go fish'en and worry about it tomorrow!

No, not completely, last year they shut off the Port ramp access and said we had to use the ramp at Anderson cove. The problem with that was, it wasn't always open because they had to have someone at the gate house to let you in and they were not always there. I really don't have a clue about what they did this year but once it ices up you can walk on at many locations. I heard from K2 that they were putting in a new ramp but I don't know if it ever got finished, it was going to be at that little cove there by swim surfer beach. Hopefully if I got that wrong, she will see this and correct my mistake.

Just another reason that we need to get Pinview and Strawberry/Soldier Creek under State control!! The Feds hae screwed it up so bad that noone can use the water anymore !!!

“I heard from K2 that they were putting in a new ramp”

Didn’t hear that from me.  What I’ve been told is the Port Ramp complex will be completely redone.  Per conversations supposed to make it one way in and one way out.  Goal is to help reduce waiting on main highway.  Probably something similar to what the state did at Willard.  I’m not holding my breath on that happening anytime soon.

I also agree Pineview needs to be taken over by the state.  The feds haven’t done anything meaningful at Pineview for the last 20 plus years fishing there.  Except increase the fees.

For a designated Blue Ribbon Fishery Pineview surly doesn’t meet the criteria for that designation IMHO.

Oops my bad, I really don't remember who told me that but they were working on the ground right above where that cove is located but that could just be to put in that new exit or entry to the ramp.
