Any reports on Ice/edge conditions at Pineview
#1
I am hoping to get out ice fishing on Friday.  I have limited time this weekend, hoping for some place closer to Ogden area.  Any reports on edges and ice conditions at Pineview?

Thanks!

Be interested in seeing how it's holding up... Other places I've been checking are not good, some have even cleared of ice completely, thinking it's about over.... Be nice to see a report of ice holding up... Later J
When things get stressful think I'll go fish'en and worry about it tomorrow!

I went to Pineview early in the morning.  Edges were good getting on at 6:30, starting to soften when I left at 10 a.m.  Went to the narrows as the access to windsurfer is blocked due to construction.  It was cold, the ice was good, evidence of lots of slush in the recent past.  Catching was not so hot.  60 FOW-caught 4 crappie 35-45 feet down.  Moved to 30 FOW and caught perch.  Nice to get outdoors!

I saw people out at Browning and North of Cemetary.

I was loaded and planning to do a night run there for Crappie last night but my crew that had some younglings mixed in were running late so we set up on echo instead. Saw crappie in my camera but they did not want to play. Perch bite was good before dark. I hope the ice holds a bit longer as I want one night run at PV.

Hey Cowboy - how were the edges and pack ice at Echo? I’m thinking with the storms next week, maybe we have another week at Echo before it gets sketchy.

I just posted a report on Echo that may help but edges were sketchy. I used a plank. But If I am still fishing then most people would not even blink at the edges. Ice was 5-8 inches - I used a poke stick as I go. I think it will have another week considering the weather forecast coming. I still hope to get in that night run at PV but it may be hard to make that happen now.

I didn't measure, it was a good 10" plus, at that time, clear ice.
