Bear Lake this coming weekend
#1
I will be at bear lake possibly friday and definitely saturday helping my grandfather take the mast down off of his giant sailboat. Apparently the water is still too low for him to get out. Anyhow I will be up there saturday and would like to try to fish it. If anyone is going to be up there, let me know. My dad and grandfather will be leaving when they are finished. I figure if im going to go all the way up there, I may as well make it a worthwile trip and fish it. Is it good fishing from the shore anywhere by the state marina or do I need to go somewhere else? Or do I need to be on a boat?

I've caught numerous Cutt's off the marina dikes with a Jake's. Get yourself a couple Jake's Spin-A-Lures in brass with red dots and go out to the end of either marina dike and start casting. The Jake's is heavy so it casts good yet it planes pretty good on the retrieve so you can retrieve it slow without dragging bottom. Try different speeds and add some jerks now and then. Also try different depths, however, I've had my best luck casting it out, letting it drift to the bottom, and then retrieving it.
