Does anyone know anything about the Pelican Point area/marina? I stopped there one day to fish, but I think it was too cold. It looked like a good spot. Any info anyone??

I did really good there last year for channel and mud cats. I love to take the kids out for night fishing at this harbor. We were having 15-20 fish nights last year mostly mud cats but did get some good channels out of there too. We would fish from the N. or N.E. side . We use worms 2 foot under a bubble about 3 ft out from shore. June and July watch out for the spiders there are a lot. Seems to be more on the S. side of the harbor thought. Was the pay station set up yet? I would imagine that soon you will have to pay to use this harbor also. Good luck.

I fished this marina alot last year and im sure I will this year as well. I had a bunch of success there last year using the technique mentioned. Worm 2 foot under a bobber. I also used the chicken fat from the fried chicken we bought at Smith's on the way up. That is how I caught alot of my big channels. Something else I might try this year is with the suckers ive been catching. Using these suckers whole or cut in half. I think this will be very successfull. Chicken liver and stink bait also work very well. But when all else fails the nightcrawler is a sure bet. Never more than 10 feet from shore though. You will often end up with a white bass this way as well.
