We were up at Deer Creek tonight, warmest I found was 61.8, the coldest was 58.3. The wind was blowing, only caught 1 fish, a smallmouth, but I had several strikes and even fish on, just couldn't get them in the boat. Nails

The Powell trip was great, hot and not too windy. We fished out of Wahweap, found the fishing a little bit slower than it was a couple of weeks ago, the water is currently rising and the fish are off the beds or at least the beds are a little deeper and the water is a little cloudier. Got some on rattle baits (lucky craft lv 100s) and some on grubs. The fish were a little deeper this time, and we didn't get into any big schools of stripers. Most of the smallies came from about 15 feet of water. Man, the weather was perfect!!! What time were you up at Deer Creek, we were there from 4:30 to about 8:30. We tried some bottom bouncers with crawlers, and with minnow baits. Tried shad raps too, but didn't make contact with any walleye. Really didn't mark too many fish either, we fished the west side of the island, the bay there by the ramp, the east side of Rainbow bay, and the north wall from the main point near Charlston Bay up to a point directly north of Rainbow Bay. Glad you got into the eyes. I did get a couple of rainbow trout on the rattlebait I was using for smallies. All in all, a fun and relaxing evening.

We used lindy rigs with green blades and worm harness.I have tried diffrent rapalahs with no luck. The fish we marked were about 30-45 feet of water just north of the island on the west side.I really think the water needs to hit the 60's and then look out! These little cold fronts are not helping the fishing at all!!!![crazy] I might be up there next tues or at least a couple of times next week.I am in a tanish galaxy boat and drive a white f-150 crewcab and both have BFT stickers on them! Hope to see you and nails up there!

I need to get some BFT stickers for my boat. Have a black and grey Lund, drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee (grey as well). Slipped up there this morning for a couple of hours with the wife and had 2 walleye on, only got one in the boat, but it was a nice one. 24 inches 4lb 14oz. Caught that one in Sunday Canyon in about 8 feet of water on a Tennesee Shad Bevy Shad just casting out and doing the pull pause pull pause deal. Caught the other one just outside of Decker Creek doing the same deal and again, I was only in 9 feet of water. It hit close to the boat on the hesatation. Got him right to the boat, but only had one hook in him, when he saw the net he bolted and was gone. Nails
