Fish mounts
#1
I am looking for a miracle worker.
I am not aware of a guy in utah who specializes in fish mounts.
Most of them seem to focus on big game and birds, and do fish on the side.
Of course I released the fish, so I need a guy who has a nack for reproduction work.
I have found some guys out of state who do real nice work, but would like to keep in in state if possible.
It would be great if the guy had expirience with sizing and painting smallmouth.
So, any of you have some fish mounts that are so incredible you just cant believe it? Who did them?
Cost is not an issue. I expect to pay for a miracle.

Hey Predator-
I know you say you want someone in Utah, but before you make the leap you owe it to yourself to check out Tony Cannova in Denver (303-744-0147), Acquatic Arts I think he calls his business. All he does are fish. It truly is museum quality work. He did a couple of pike for me back in 1990 (skin mounts) that look as good 14 years later as they did back then. I've never seen fish that I thought were as good as his. He did a reproduction of a 28 lb. steelhead for a buddy of mine that is probably the prettiest mount I've ever seen. That's my $.02.

Ray Barlow. He's better than anyone I've seen. He is now living in Wayne County. He does reproductions. He is very good. I wouldn't take mine anywhere else...

Look at page 5 toward the bottom: "Mounting a catch and release fish". No pictures, but a pretty good testimonial of Ray's work. http://www.coflyfishers.org/septnews/news03.pdf

The article mentions that Ray works our of Cedar City, but he has since moved to Wayne County. He still does mounts, and replica's. I'd look into getting him to do it. He's good...
