THE NELLE
#1
STARTED FISHING AROUND 2:30 IT WAS CALM AND NICE THEN HOUR AND 45 MIN LATER ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. A STROM HIT FAST BLOW MY BOAT ONTO THE SHORE BEFORE THAT ALMOST LOST IT DUE TO WAVES CRASHING OVER IT. THE WIND WAS SO STRONG THAT WHEN WE WERE ON SHORE IT WAS LIKE BEING SAND BLASTED. WAS A GREAT TILL THAT STROM HIT WE HAD TO WAIT AROUND A HOUR FOR IT TO PASS. MY POOR BOYS 5 AND 2 SAID THEY DON'T WANT TO GO FISHING THERE EVER AGAIN. OH WE CAUGHT ONE VERY VERY SMALLIE RIGHT BEFORE THE STROM SORRY NO CAMERA BUT SHE WAS HUGE WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IS I HAD PIC OF HER BUT I PROBALY WOULDN'T HAVE MADE IT TO SHORE IF I WOULD HAVE TAKEN A PIC.
MAN THE WEATHER IS WEIRD THIS YEAR

About 5 years ago my wife and I were on Jordenelle in our little 12 1/2 foot aluminum boat when the wnd came on full speed - the wife doesn't have her sea-legs and the whitecaps were breaking at about 4 feet.

Needless to says she said she will never go out in that boat again and YES I could buy a bigger craft. Thus making lemonaide out of a lemon experience - I bought a nice new 18 1/2 Lund and have never regretted the purchase.

In fact I think all you fisherman that want the permission to buy a larger craft should do the same thing - take the "Boss" out for a day of wave riding and have her experience the thrill of adventure....

Good Luck and do not forget the life jackets....
