BLACK BOX
#1
[black]I've been reading about this little black box that attaches to your down rigger cables and sends an electric charge down the cable to attract the fish.[/black]
Cabelas sells them for around $100.00. I was wondering if any of you guys are using them? Or have used them? Do you recommend Them or should I save my money? I welcome all replys.thanks

We have had a couple of discussions about this issue over the last couple of years and most people think they catch more fishermen that fish. Kent was the last one to talk about it a few months ago and after doing some research, I think he did a test to find out if his downrigger was giving off stray voltage. It would be best to get with him to get the details but I think he hooked a volt meter to the negetive side of the battery and the positive lead was connected to the downrigger cable. WH2

I don't know how well they work but "Smith and Edwards" has had the same box for around $70. There is a good writeup on the Scotty downrigger web site.
