well the game warden that gave me the tip to go in the fist place said that they were goden shiners.. and i think they are as well.. the mouth is totaly difrent than any carp i have seen around here..
and most all the carp aroud here are mirror carp not common carp..
but you never know.. could be some other kind of carp i have not seen around here before.. and i know most all the koi and common kinds..
it's a water system that i have fished for years and not seen there before now.

Hey fuzzy I'm surrounded by golden shiners from Nevada. Those fish don't look right. The scales are huge compared to goldens. Also they are always a light gold color. Here's a couple more pics.

Fuzzy I am going to have to go with goldfish also on this one, they probably came from your local walmart, where they can be had 5 for $1, I bet that somebody bought a bunch and released them into the water as a prank.
Here is a pic of one of my goldfish, you can see that the fin structure is the same on all of the fish.
PS. hedges, if i remember right you caught those yellow shiners in a so. utah water, right?

yes we have already went over all of this.. i was thinking wild carp not goldfish.. pond carp to be exact..
and it was not a prank they were planted in a pond above the lake..about 8 years ago.. and the birds have been bringing them down from the pond above and droping them in the lake below.. the DWR know all about then and are not happy about them being there but not much they can do right now.. as long as the pond up above them has the carp in it the carp will continue being droped in the other lake by the birds.. (dont ask me why the birds are droping the fish in the other lake) !! i'm not a bird so how would i know!!
