Cat bait
#1
Has anyone tried a bait similar to this http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=52267&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults What were your results? would anyone suggest trying it?

P.S. I will be asking these random questions until mid march.

I havent tried the bait but if you were to put a space in-between this and http i think that your hyperlink would work, something like this http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=52267&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults

Hello TH

I have always found that for some reason the prepared baits seem to attract smaller fish. Not quite sure why but I have done quite alot of cat fishin in my time. I think the bigger fish tend to go after baits that are more natural to their diet. The blood and stink baits do seem to work pretty good for the smaller channels though.

I bought a tub of that crap once and didn't catch a fish on it, then on the way home I stick the three trebel hooks with the tubing on it (like in tubedudes pic) in the bait and left it in the back of my truck. When I got home my dog had eaten all of the bait including the three trebel hooks. By the time I got her to the vet and had an x-ray she had passed all three hooks into her intestines. The doctor fed her an entire bag of cotton balls and I had to spend the next three days picking through dog poo until I found all three hooks. Amazingly enough stink bait looks and smells EXACTLY the same before and after traveling through the digestive system of a dog, not to mention it tripled the size of logs she left in the back yard. I'm not kidding she was dropping bombs in my yard that were literally 2" in diameter and hard as a rock, must have been fun for her to pass those tube snakes.

i have done tons of experimenting with all types of dip bait... some of them work quite well. some just dont!! i have had allright success with the catfish charlie brand. i have never caught a catfish on the powerbait brand! waste of money in my opinion. but by far the best ones are cat tracker brand baits... that brand works great. i usually dip my cut bait in it. but my homemaide doughs and dip baits work the best!!! its the nastiest grossest stuff ever! all i do is dip some carp meat into it and whammo, knocks them dead. the smell could knock me dead but it works!

I agree with tube dude.... the best bait by far is cut carp, and whole chubs!! it doesnt get better than that. i like to dip those carp fillets in a special mixture of yummy grossness and juices. but fresh bait is by far the best.

The best catfish bait, I have found is minnows, and fresh cut bait. If your catching small fish just use bigger bait! Big bait = Big fish!
