Strawberry Quickie (01/16/05)
#1
Fished the berry with some friends. What can I say, we started at the marina and it was so crowded by 8:30-9AM we left and made our way to the ladders.

We had 4 in our group and we iced a whopping total of 13 trout. Bite was slow all over, game warden reported a 28 inch cutt iced in the morning at the marina and also said fishing was slow everywhere.

Got to see a nice bow that was caught. Snapped a photo of the fisherman and his prize. What a fatty! Thanks to the unknown for posing with your nice fish.

Also below are a couple shots of some fish caught by my friend John.

The fishing wasn't that hot but the company and weather was perfect. I mean the weather, we were so hot all day we peeled down to our underoos. HAH!

Reports of the fishing only getting slower there the next few weeks. Still some lunkers being caught.

Nice report. The first look at that 28" cutt I thought it was a mac that was pulled out of bear lake last winter. Was that 28" cutt caught at the marina?

The photo is a rainbow actually. Check out the full size of the pic at the below url.

It was caught @ the ladders. It's colors faded slightly, it was on ice for a bit before we took the photo. Great looking fish though. Gives me faith in my quest for the big one at the berry.

The 28 inch cutt that was caught that the warden told us about was caught at the marina.

No worries, after a long day of relentlessly trying to hook fish I too barely remember posting this report. Smile

[cool]Man, that is a huge bow! Is that similar to the one Mike lost when we were there on the 18th of Dec? Glad you guys got out and had a good time. Sounds like it's starting to slow down lately, but at least you still have a chance of catching a monster!

Craig, you still got a kitchen pass? I thought you were pretty much grounded to the SLC area now with the little one on the way.

Half a foot or so in spots but there is some without snow. Most of it blew off with last weeks strong winds.

Looks like fun at the berry, if you have Friday off and ice conditions seem to sustain at Rockport, wanna go for some perch???

[cool]Being limited to just Willow sucks, but being also limited to Little Dell is pretty dang cool, CBR! You gonna breakout the pontoon, or just shore fish it? Maybe we can have a joint expedition there soon!

Rockport isn't in my 30 minute away range. Sad Maybe in a few weeks.

Thanks though, we do need to get together and have a beer or something.
