How's the fog? Can you even see the lake? Hyrum used to be a regular stop for me when the perch were thick, but haven't tried it for a couple of years. Good luck!

Had some fog tha last couple of monrings. I scouted it on Saturday morning and it was all clear ice, with no fog. I hope the excess perch return soon, I'm sure they will. Trout always do well for me too, however. I put on my rat finkie to the bottom with a spike and swedish pimple 3-4 feet above that and that's where the trout hit, mostly.

Welcome CacheIceMan. I haven't seen any reports about Hyrum ice fishing as of yet. BLM or IdahoNative should give us an update anytime now. I know last winter was rough at Hyrum, not much action at all. I think this year they did some late fall fish plants that should help with the trout but I don't know how the perch will do.

Welcome aboard Mr. IceMan, and thanks for the report - except for it being bad news for ice. The HyrumDamCam looks pretty, and clear...
I'd seen some nice perch end of summer fall, but lots of dinks too, ones even I'd call minnows (or bait). Hopefully they'll be findable this year, might have to weed through the dinks.
Ever iced fished Porcupine?
Do you ever catfish when you're not on ice? [cool]

I fished it Saturday and it was good, but was right on 4" and it sounds like it hasn't changed much since then other than starting to rot around the edges... Think cold thoughts and leave the fridge door open... Later J

Huh? How did my post from 2005 "Hyrum Ice" suddenly resurface to start a new thread?? lol Ironically the conditions are eerily similar today! [mad]
Anyway, Coyotespinner...Yes, I have done Porcupine on the ice, but only one time (almost went through, had no business even trying)..caught a nice Brown though!
I have catfished (non-ice)..love it...around cutler and such!
