Rockport Ice

My buddy wants to take a couple of Texans up fishing on the ice at Rockport. Does anybody have any reports on the ice conditions? Thanks.

I have not been up there. However, After reading other posts and the warm temps, You might be pushing it. However I was up to causey on Saturday, 03-05 and there is still good ice and should be ok for this weekend. Fishing was ok, Small splake on the bottom. Need to use a small ice fly and they would get more hook ups. Just a thought.

I was told today the ice was all gone at rock port.

I was on the rock sunday. I didn't have any problems getting on or off. I could see that the ice was changing and I have no plans to go back. The night time temps have been pretty high this week and the ice was thinner and the edges were starting to go bad. You might try some other lake at a higher elevation. Gshorthair
