fishing in southern utah (need some advice)
#1
I am in mesquite until sunday and if the weather holds out would like to flip some lures for a while. Anywhere in the st. george or cedar area or anywhere close would be great. I don't have a boat, but I have all my jigs and plastics and even power baite if need be. I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or is goin somewhere today or any of the next couple of days. Or if anyone has any suggestions let me know,

Quail Creek Reservoir has bass and trout in it. You can fish from the shore around the weeds and should be able to find something. There are also 3 Community ponds in St. George that have bass, cat fish, and trout in them. The DWR has a booklet with information about the Community ponds in Utah. Pick one up at a sports store or the DWR.

IF YOU HAVE YOUR ICEFISHING EQUIPMENT WITH YOU, YOU COULD DO THE HARD WATER THING AT PANGUICH LAKE. WE WERE THERE(THE ONLY ONES ON THE ICE) YESTERDAY AND CAUGHT 6 RESPECTIBLE RAINBOWS ON JIGS TIPPED WITH MEALWORMS AT THE EAST BOAT RAMP. THE ICE WAS AT LEAST 2 FOOT THICK. WE HAD TO GO UP THRU THE PANGUICH ROUTE SINCE THE ROAD OVER THE MOUNTAIN WAS CLOSED. GOOD LUCK WHEREVER YOU GO!!!

I'd fished Sand Hollow or Quail. Forget about those stupid urban ponds. Baker and Gunlock are other options but not my favorites.

Good luck, your going to need it.
