Bear Lake
#1
Finally got out on Bear Lake on tuesday the 29th. Got on the water at 8:30 AM. It was my maiden voyage for the new boat. Got over by Gus's Point then spent the next 1 1/2 hours trying to get the new trolling motor to run right. (guess I shud have read the directions) ended up catching 6 cuts between 3 and 5 lbs and 1 mack a little over 3. Had to quit at 2:30 because of the big W. [Sad]
All in all not a bad day 7 fish in 4 hours. We were trolling with downriggers right on the bottom at 50'.

I'm jealous! any time on the lake is great form me! Have you noticed if the Lake lever has come up at all? I pray with a few more good years of water it will happen. I don't want to sound of little faith, but I heard last year that it would take four consequtive, above average water years to bring it back up. I hope we have started the first one. Jake

Ya I would imagine it will take at least that long to fill unless we have a wet spring and summer. The lake has come up about 2' so far and the run off hasn't even started yet. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks for the report Jeff, sounds like you did good for four hour on the pond. When you are using downriggers, how slow do you troll? Thanks.

A lot depends on the lure but in general 1.5-2.5 mph. I'm hoping to go again on sunday I'll let you know how I do.
