Starvation Help???

Can anybody tell me the status of the spawn in Starvation ... or where the fish (walleyes) may be?? I was there a couple weeks ago with a fellow BFT member and well, let's just say it sure is nice to get out after some 'eyes []. I hear they run pretty small but I am anxious to get my girlfriend catching some walleyes and figure a lake with more plentiful (although smaller) fish would help. Thanks!

I can't help you on the spawn at Starvation but Curtisfish might be able to help you. He lives in the area and if he doesn't know, he has a friend that might. Send him a PM if he does not respond to this post. There are a few other BFT guys that live over in the Vernal area but I'm not sure how much they know about the spawn at Starvation. We fished Starvation a couple of years ago but it wasn't the best this early, the eye fishing was better in the mid May and early June time frame. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully one of the other guys will chime in. Oh yea, welcome to the site. WH2

TRY THE SALLORATIS WASH. OR UP WHERE THE STRAWBERRY RIVER FLOWS IN. JIGS WITH CRAWLERS ARE BEST ON THIS WATER. BUT DRIFTING SASY SHADS HAS SOME GOOD RESULTS ALSO. HAVE FUN

As of right now there is no water coming in at Salateraus wash, they are lowering the lake for the anticipated runoff, the water temp was 41-46 degrees depending on the time of day. I think it is still to cold for the walleyes, but not others[]! Sorry I can't share these secrets! Now I just need my own boat so I can hit it every weekend. Most of the fish seem to be around the bridge(where the Strawberry river runs in) asuming you haven't been here before. Check out this smallmouth from 2 weeks ago! Water was only 38 degrees then.
