Pineview 7/16

Hello everyone,

I think this is my first post in this forum. You all sound very knowledgeable, and i enjoy your threads.

Anyway, I hit pineview today. I was fishing from my float tube by Anderson Cove. Landed somewhere around 25 smallies and 1 largemouth. Biggest smallie was 19inches, but most were in the 13 to 14 inch range. The largemouth was 16 inches. All in all a good day. I was using a 3 1/2 inch tube jig in pumpkin seed color.

Did have one tiger on as I was leaving, but he broke me off.

[font "Comic Sans MS"][black]I vagely remember seeing you up there today. I was targeting tigers and on one rod was trolling a J-13 perch ... even as big as that lure was, I still caught smallies on it. It is incredable to me just how big of bait or lure a smallie will try for.[/black][/font]

Sounds like an awesome day fishing! Welcome flycasting. How did you rig your tube and how did you fish it? Weedless, bottom... sounds like you had the answer that day!

I was using an 1/8 ounch lead head inside the tube. Wasn't fishing it weed less.
I did see a few people trolling for muskies. You are right... those smallies will take about anything. I am a little worried that they are over populated.

Why do you think they are over-populated? Good numbers, small size?
