Maniac's Lures
#1
I have never fished with them until Saturday. They are actually some of the best baits I have seen in a long time. Great colors!

After the full mooon, the fish on Jordanelle were full. We did manage to boat a sack. The smallies ranged from 1.5lbs to 3lbs. No greenfish.

All of my fish came on Speed Traps & 5" Senkos.

All of the other guys boated theirs on Dropshotting.

3 Boats Showed... I need to re-vamp these tourneys. They are so much fun!

Any Ideas?

What color of speed trap... I've been wanting to buy one but have no first hand referral/suggestion as to a pattern. The full size speed trap, not the mini, right?

What color of senko?

The tourneys sound fun but I, at this point in my experience, would be throughing good money after bad. [Sad]

I avoided the recreation boaters Saturday and hit the stream for the fattest browns I've caught since 1998!

Didn tknow about this tournament our I would have been your sixth boat, I work twelve hour night shifts, 3 or 4 days a week. So I can fish any tournamsents wed thru sat and some sundays. Post the tournament on this board (general Discussion) ahead of time and I think you would get some more boats.

Hey Dork,

If you want to see some of his baits, talk to me. Where were you in march when I brought them to our club meeting, Afganistan!

You need to promote your events. How many people know you are even in town(we thought he was in the banana republic).

Does anybody even like you?[angelic]

Plus, you can't afford my appearance fees[Tongue]

Glad you like the maniac stuff.
The best part about them is not only does he make great colors in his stock colors, but how often do you find a guy who makes a quality bait like that who will make any custom color you want?

You should see some of the new creature bait colors he made for the riverdale sportsmans.

No other company is making creature baits in a couple of these colors.

If you think that is cool, just wait untill you see the curl tail grubs that I will be producing next spring, or maybe earlier! What size of curl tail grubs do you guys like? And what size of salt stick do you like the best?

Jeeze I think that smoke colors & crawdad brown work the best. Motor-oil colors also work very well.

Salt Sticks ... Electric Blue please ... Motor Oil As well.

[size 1]"What size of curl tail grubs do you guys like? And what size of salt stick do you like the best? "[/size]

I use mainly 3 and 4 inch for curly tails and 4 inch salt sticks.

I have loved your stuff, but I had a question/observation. The "regular salt" maniac salt sticks I have seem to sink at a much slower rate than the "leading national brand". This (so far, in my fishing) seems to make them a bit less effective, compared to senkos, when fishing drop-offs and deeper water, but money when fishing shallow grassy structure. If I ordered some with "extra" salt, would they sink comparable to the senko, for applications when I would like a faster sink without putting on a bunch of sinkers?

I'm a 3" guy in more ways than one.[shocked] Talking curly tail though. As usual, I have a color that has been discontinued (at least I can't find any) and I just can't adequately describe. There are a lot of colors somewhat similar out there but just aren't quit the same. Kind of a dark brown with dark green and red cast with a light red with black fleck tail. It seems real close to the dad's coolration I found in the Snake and the Gorge. For years it was my go to lure for smallies on the Snake, Flaming Gorge and Jordanelle. My camera is busted but when I get it fixed I'll send you a pic. if I still have one left.
Forgot to mention, most plastics you buy today lose or change their color drastically when you hold em up to the light. The one I tried to describe kept it's color pretty well. Don't know if this makes difference, never heard it discussed but somehow I always thought it did. Anyone else have an opinion?[crazy]

Yes I can make them sink like the senko. Just order them that way!

How about a brown with copper flake salt stick? Or "Motor-Oil" with black flake?

6" / 5" / 4"

Hook a brother up!

How do the reapers work and what colors to you reccomend for Lake X and Deer Creek?

the reapers work good rigged weedless with a worm hook and a split shot a foot or so in front. fish them deeper with a drop shot rig, jig head, or texas rigged. changeable craw, watermelon brown/multi glitter, and predator colors have been some of the hot colors, at lake X. Hey leaky! if you want me to make you something in one of those colors, send it to me and I will see what I can do. Ut bass, I can make you any of those colors, and put more salt in them as well. I make the heavier salt sticks for other guys, and they say they like them better than the other brands.
