Went to the Berry today with timpgoat and his son. We arrived at 8:00am, silly me turned the alarm off and slept for an extra hour, so we were about an hour later than I wanted to be there. O well its not the middle of summer and the fishing stays hot all day. We started out in Bryants Fork, fishing has been red hot there for me the last three weeks. But today in 2 hours we only picked up seven. I decided to go scouting for fish and headed towards the Meadows. Well at Haws Point Vince's son picked up a22 inch 3 3/4 pound rainbow. We also picked up a couple of slot cutts there. Once down in the Meadows we found a floating gob of moss and fishing was fast till we left about noon. We ended up boating about thirty fish. Mostly slot cutts. Besides the big bow we also caught two smaller rainbows.

John, congrats on a great trip. I know that you made a lot of a jealous reading about it. Were the fish directly in/below/around the moss itself? If so were you casting, jigging, or trolling or something else? Congrats again on the good trip, Jake

Jake,
The fish were directly in the Gob of moss, that was real thick for a 10 acre area. We were trolling and when we hooked up in this mess we started reeling in the other lines. As we were reeling in the other lines we had bite's on the other lines. We were using pointers and not using any weight so we were fishing close to the surface.
During this time we ended up with three doubles and almost had a triple but I missed my hookup.

John, sounds like a great trip. I have never fished in the moss like that. Something new to try. Thanks, Jake
