As of 1-5 the ice is still good, the edges have melted and refroze, it was cold most of the day the fishing is hit and miss we were on the west side,it was only fair I heard it has been good at times over by the ramp.

Coldfooter & I spent a brief time by the ramp last evening, saw a few go by @ mid depth but - no takers. We were in about 42 ft. depth. Coldfooter dropped his aqua view in but we didn't see a thing. Now I gotta get back up there next days off for revenge.

Could you tell if the center of the reservoir had safe ice? Would you dare walk from the ramp over to the west side?
I an looking at fishing there in the morning and want to park on the ramp for the easy access. Do you think that ATV's will be usable on the ice yet?

On Tuesday, the open spot extended far enough South that if you went straight across west from the ramp, you would run into it. If you went due South from the ramp, then crossed when you were parallel with the 2nd outhouse, you would be fine. (I hope that wasn't confusing) I would avoid ATV's however. The edges might not be strong enough for them. Good luck if you go, I might try it again myself.

Had a report on FreeformFishing.com today that someone went through at rockport this morning. Not sure where but I guess there are some unsafe spots out there. Careful.

I read that report he went trou i guess by the edge because he said it wasn't deep so teh edges might not be safe right now.

The ice thurs. was medium to punky, plenty safe for a foot solder but no atvs, you could get wet feet geting off on a warm day, a big hole in the middle but ealy to avoid.

[cool]The ice was getting a little nasty along the edge when bassackward and I were getting off it last Saturday, so I don't doubt that someone probably went through up to their knees or so by the edges. I think I'm going to stick to the higher country and go chase some big slime rockets until it gets colder. Strawberry this Saturday HERE I COME!!![] Those warm water fishies are gonna have to wait a little while for me to spank them again'.
