Rockport ICE?

I'm thinking about hitting Rockport in the morning for a few hours! Anyone have a recent ice report?

My last trip was Sun. evening. Ice was fine on the south end, no plank needed. 1/3 of the lake was open water.
The temps up there have been around 10 degrees most nights, The ice should still be good on the south half. I would not go out in front of the launch ramp, it was open water last week. Even if frozen over it will still be thin.

Thanks guy's for the ice report! I just got back. Fished from 8 to 11! caught a dozen and missed several.. all in all a pretty slow day for perch! There was plenty of safe ice on the south end, and no problems on the edeges!

Hey Don , I didn't know you were there too .Only thing I seen on the ice was 2 4wheelers but I don't look around much with the vex in view . I was on the westside . Did you find any perch ? I found some out deep towards the open water from the ramp the week before . I think it was 56' deep if I remember right .

Hey Randy, we found a few perch at 42' but had to move around to find those and they were few.. We first set up the shanty 150 yards north on the rockie point south of the ramp then later moved to just south of the ramp.

I have not seen a report on rockport ice sence 13 Jan 2006. Any body been to rockpart in the last week? I would like to go Wednesday 8 Feb. pleas let me know ice conditions and how you did.

Most have given up on RP. Moved on looking for greener pastures. More perch.

Past two years the perch were stupid, everyone caught a limit most of the time, But few dinks, now few perch. I would bet the ice on the south end is fine. been cold up there at night. 10 defrees most nights.

Lots of people trying Mantua, East Canyon, Pineview and Lost Creek. I went to PV last Sat. did ok, got a few. They are there and the possability of crappie makes it a choice for me. Also closest yo where I live although Lost and East are not much farther. I,ve never fished Echo but heard good things last year.

my buddy went up on saturday
fished out from the boat ramp from 20 to 50 feet of water.
ice was 7 to 8 inches with about 4 inches of slush on top.
