I'm not going to get fancy because it was a bad day. Not only did we catch very few fish, none of the pictures came out. Proving once again I need a new camera. Jed, check for my PM in a little bit.
Hit Newton this morning with ideas of grandure. There is about 5" of ice on the lake, we had all 4 sleds out there. However, there are no fish. None.
Left Newton went to Hyrum. Split up and fished all over the place. Car bodies, no fish. My not so secret spot, no fish, the spring just west of Big Toe, no fish. Polo and I went back to my not so secret spot and iced a few Bows. Dan and BLM came and joined us and iced a few more. Maybe a total of 7. Bad day on the ice. The ice varies depending on where you are. Most was 5", least was open water.
Even an IFG can have a bad day once in while, can't I? I'm am now forever banned by popular vote on picking the fishing spots. I even voted against myself, how bad is that?
The one good note for the day BLM's new sled ran great and is way faster that my new ones. I couldn't believe he let me ride it but I think he was just showing off. Always keeping an IFG down, I'm sick of being opressed by the Rich.

[cool][#0000ff]Your self-deprecating tirade may fool others, but not me. I know that gods have no doubts as to their greatness, but realize the need to remind "mere mortals" that they still retain human traits. I applaud your clever ruse. You apparently convinced the others that you were having a bad day, while all the time you were Jeffing and shaking off all of those silly fish that wanted to play on your line.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Only a god could cloud the minds of those mortals in your company so that they did not see all of the fish marks upon the holy sonar screens. It was saintly of you to allow the others to at least catch a few fish.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I am concerned about your comments about BLM's new ride. Sounds like covetousness to me. Ain't that a godly no-no?[/#0000ff]

[black]It was a slow day BUT I'm not altogether through with Newton. We really didn't give it a fair chance plus what few fish we saw were as jig shy as it gets. That place does have some untapped potential.[/black]

[black]We also talked to some guys who fish Hyrum regularly and they too were bummed by their slow day. Last weekend they said they iced up to 80 fish in one day, a combo of perch, bass, and trout. The Hyrum bows were very healthy and fat though small. [/black]

[black]Don't feel bad, IFG. I never had one bite and didn't catch a fish all day. So your godly powers did at least allowed you, and others closet to you, some measure of success. I was the farthest away in our little group.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]The new ride is pretty nice. The dang thing hit 70 mph across the ice with tons of power to spare. When you really punch it, it brings the front skis off the ground. Great ice fishing sled....[/black]

I agree, Newton may still be a untapped fish hole. Though there was the huge die off a few years back, due to the lack of pressure the last few years there has got to be some nice sized fish in there still and probably a large variety in fish.
I had a great day fishing, even though I only caught one 8 inch trout at Hyrum. Plus it great to have friends that have such nice toys!!![cool]

I can't imagine Newton would have many fish in it right now. It's too bad you didn't jump the border and head up to Weston or Deep Creek. Both fisheries have great fishing right now.
